As per the Finance Bill announced for FY 2066/67, Capital Gain Tax on listed securities transactions is 15% both for individuals & institutional investors.

  1. Capital Gain Tax for INDIVIDUAL: 10% of Net Profit
  2. Capital Gain Tax for COMPANY: 15% of Net Profit

If an investor makes Capital Gain (or gross profit in simple words) after selling the shares, s/he will be required to pay 15% government tax on the profit less the stock broker's commission as Capital Gain Tax.

Previously, the Capital Gain Tax was 15% for individual investors and 15% for the institutional investors.
